Registration Information 

The registration for Peer Learning Seminar is FREE for all participants and includes continental breakfast and lunch on both days. Please register online through this website.  You will receive an electronic confirmation from Eventbrite.

Ground Transportation

The Sheraton Atlanta Hotel does not provide shuttle service from the airport.  For shuttle services GHPC recommends The Atlanta Link Shuttle service.  Reservations are not needed for transportation from the airport, but it is recommended that you make a reservation in advance.  To make your reservation go to or call (404) 524-3400.  One-way rate to the Sheraton Atlanta Hotel is $16.50 or $29 round trip per person.

Hotel Reservations

GHPC has negotiated a special rate with the Sheraton Atlanta Hotel of $129 per night single/double occupancy rooms.  Reservations can be made online at: or you can call Sheraton Atlanta Hotel (404) 659-6500.  This special rate is available through March 5, 2008.  Please be sure to identify yourself as part of the Georgia Health Policy Center group to secure this special rate.

This seminar will take the place of site visits from your Technical Assistance providers for second year Network Development and Outreach grantees.  Travel will be reimbursed for one person for second year grantees.  Others from these communities are invited to attend at their own expense.  Third year grantees also are invited to attend at their own expense.

This topic specific seminar will allow ORHP grantees to share their experiences with one another and provide an opportunity to hear from and interact with an expert in each topic area.  With this in mind, please be prepared to discuss the following in small groups:  

  • Key program goals and objectives  
  • Successes and challenges 
  • Lessons learned to date  

Additionally, we request that each grantee bring at least one example of a program resource to share with others.   This resource material should be project specific and can be in any phase of development or use.  Resource materials can also be products that were modified and/or adapted to meet the needs of your project. Due to the limitations of our meeting space, we are unable to show video or DVDs or computer tools but please bring copies for display.  Types of program resources might include, but are not limited to:  

  • Training curricula and kits
  • Print materials
  • Internet tools
  • Videos and Public Service Announcements (PSAs)
  • In-language community or provider videos, or mass media PSAs
  • Needs assessment instruments and results
  • Evaluation tools (pre-post tests, satisfaction surveys, logic models, health    assessments)
  • Other survey instruments, etc.

Georgia Health Policy Center Peer Learning Seminar 

Reimbursable Expenses 

The following expenses will be reimbursed for your visit to Atlanta for the Peer Learning Seminar.

1.      Roundtrip airfare from your location to Atlanta

2.      Roundtrip mileage reimbursement if you drive from your location to Atlanta

3.      Roundtrip ground transportation from the Atlanta airport to the hotel

4.      Hotel room for two nights

5.      Meals at a per diem rate of $55.00 per day for meals not provided during the seminar ($12 for breakfast, $18 for lunch and $25 for dinner)

Required Documentation for Travel Reimbursements 

The following documentation is required when requesting travel reimbursement:

1.      Airfare Reimbursements:

A PAID receipt and boarding pass.


2.      Taxi/Carrier Reimbursements:

Receipt and/or Taxi Card with amount of the fare on the back.


3.      Parking Reimbursements:

A PAID receipt is needed for parking.


4.      Mileage Reimbursements:

Please provide a MapQuest of the starting point and ending destinations for all travel. The approved mileage reimbursement is $.485 per mile, which includes reimbursement for gas.


5.      Hotel Reimbursements:

A PAID original receipt from the hotel is needed for lodging.


6.      Meals

            A PAID original receipt is required even though you will only be reimbursed for the per diem amount for that meal (see above.)  Please be advised that the Federal government does not reimburse for alcoholic beverages.  Receipts that include payment for any alcoholic beverage will not be acceptable.

NOTE:  We will provide you with a Reimbursement Form that must be signed and dated, accompanied by your Paid Receipts and a completed W-9 form for the person or organization to be reimbursed.
