MHO Cross Country Skiing January 5th, 2008

Welcome to the January 5th, 2008 MHO Cross-Country Skiing sign up page!  Please read thru the info listed below, and sign up to confirm you are coming.

A few items of note:
  • We are a ministry and we are sponsored by Mars Hill Church in Seattle.  More on who we are here:
  • Since we are a ministry, we want to respect and welcome differences in abilities, gender, and religious/non-religious backgrounds.   Please respect & encourage other participants on the trip.
  • Any pertinent medical/physical history, allergies, or concerns should be given to us before the trip.  (We want to keep you safe out there)
  • I am not an expert cross country skier, so I picked a sno-park with green groomed trails (the easiest).
  • If you can, please rent skis/boots/poles (unless you own them) prior to the trip.  Rentals are available at REI and many other outdoors stores in the area.  If you can’t rent them prior to the trip, we can stop at the Snoqualmie Pass Nordic Center.  See link (Nordic Package cost is approx. $25):
  • I will have waivers for you to sign the day of the event
A quick itinerary:

Meet up for carpooling at the EAST SIDE of the Eastgate Park & Ride, near the I-90 and I-405 interchange.  Address:  14200 SE Eastgate Way, Bellevue (SE Eastgate Wy & 141st Ave SE)  Look for my silver Honda Civic.

9am-ish Arrive at Snoqualmie Nordic Center for rentals (if necessary)

10am-ish Arrive at Lake Easton Sno-Park, purchase permits & hit the trail!  See link:

Noon-ish Stop for a lunch break (totally up to group on time/place)

2-3pm Head back home, carpools can decide if they want to stop for a bite to eat on the way home

4-5pm Arrive back at Park & Ride

Gas Money:  ~$5 – please bring CASH to pay driver!

Permit:  ~$10-$15 per person, this is dependent on how many folks are in each carpool, each car needs a permit.  Please also bring CASH for this item, too.

Gear Rentals:  ~$25 (if you need rentals)

Dinner Money (optional)

            -long underwear

            -fleece jacket

-sunglasses (or something to keep the wind out of your   eyes if it’s not sunny)

*Note:  some folks don’t need a lot to stay warm out there – but if you’re not one of those people, please bring what you need to stay warm

-Lunch and/or snacks

-Water – 2 liters should be plenty

-Day Pack or something to haul your water & food around in when skiing

If there’s anything I’ve missed, or if you have any further questions, please let me know.  My e-mail address is, and my cell # is 206.861.6521.
