"Making the Transition from Entrepreneur to CEO"

Presented by

Marty Lattman
Founder & President of Quality Revenue Growth, Inc.

One of the greatest challenges facing today’s entrepreneurs is managing their companies once they’ve reached critical mass. During the early stages, entrepreneurs do almost everything themselves. After the start-up has reached a certain point and become an entity with multiple functions and a number of employees, the role of the founders need to change. No longer able to do all or most of the work themselves, they are now required to manage other people and function as a CEO, and for this they are usually unprepared.

Entrepreneurs have one of two choices: Either they can hire an experienced executive to run their company or they can learn to become well-rounded executives themselves. Unfortunately, learning how to become an effective CEO isn’t easy. There are many aspects of this, and arguably some of them cannot really be taught, but must be learned thorugh trial and error.  The result is that most entrepreneurs choose neither approach - they continue to run the company on their own and struggle mightily.

About the Presenter: Martin Lattman is a leading expert in small company growth. In addition to being a founder of a successful company, he was also a CEO of a $40M corporation. He is currently a faculty member at Johns Hopkins University and at the American Management Association.
