This is the eleventh seminar in a series of twelve monthly presentations made by Dick Otero and his team of successful business owners who have been there and actually done it the big way.

The purpose of these seminars is to prepare women, veteran and minority business owners to enter the 8(a) Federal Procurement Program, how to succeed in it and how to position your business in order to successfullly graduate from it as a strong and competitive business.

Federal procurement in the Washington area is in the tens of billions of dollars and continues to grow. However, small and minoritity businesses in general have not taken advantage of this business opportunity. This seminar series addresses this deficiency.

About our Speakers: Mr. Steven Edwards founded Edwards Industries in June 1997 as a project management and systems engineering firm to support US Government, DoD and commercial organizations. Since its inception, he has devoted himself and the company to specializing in the implementation of emerging technologies and tools for project management that support small to large-scale businesses and projects. The company, headquartered in Hanover, Maryland, delivers results through comprehensive and integrated full life cycle products and services for:

Mr. Edwards has an BS degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland and an associates degree in biomedical electronics technology. He has more than 24 years of experience in the computer software and electronic hardware design and manufacturing industries. He holds several patents in the cellular and cellular secure transmission industries.

Mr. Edwards and his company are active in many project management, engineering and business advancement organizations including the Project Management Institute (PMI), the Microsoft® Project Users Group (MPUG), and the Institute for Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE). He has published several articles in project management, been a contributing author to books on project management toolsets and made many presentations in the project management and electrical engineering fields.

Mr. Richard J. Otero Sr., is an entrepreneur and former owner of RJO Enterprises. He has been educating small and minority business owners about the awesome business opportunities available through the U.S. Federal government, the largest procurementp program in the world.
