The Rock and Run for Justice Concert for Midnight Run
featuring Alex Yorke, Jessie Lambiase, Ella Berkeley, Corrine Hallander, Will Floyd, UUordsmith the Dev1ous, Anthony Da Costa, Griffin and the True Believers, and Dave End.

Among the young artists performing will be Anthony da Costa. During the past year, Anthony won the Kerrville “New Folk” Competition and performed at the Kerrville Folk Festival. He was named a Falcon Ridge Folk Festival “Emerging Artist” and was chosen a Mountain Stage “New Song” Contest NE Regional Finalist. He also showcased at the Tin Pan South Songwriters Festival in Nashville and at the Folk Alliance Conference in Memphis. And he released his fifth CD, Quality Time.

Will Floyd, from Maplewood, NJ, is a drummer and composer of jazz, indie and electronic music will also join the lineup. He also runs The Electrique Wave Studio, a professional digital recording studio serving independant artists in the NYC area.

UUordsmith the Dev1ous is Devin Kharpertian of the South End, Montclair, NJ via Amherst, MA. His debut album, The South End LP, is out now.

Jessie Lambiase was born and raised in Irvington, NY, and is 16 years old. The music she writes and performs can best be described as acoustic alternative pop/rock, with a soft and natural sound. When performing live at venues like the Hastings Farmer9s Market or Coffee Labs in Tarrytown, Jessie plays a mix of covers and originals. She is currently working on a demo recording.

Also appearing will be Griffin and the True Believers, who are rag tag, rough and tumble, hug-and-squeezable; they are kazooers, drummers, bassists; they are general anti-folkers currently and just barely, bound by New York. They are are roommates, college friends, siblings and complete strangers (but not complete strangers) They like Pavement, Krautrock, Fugazi, Elephant 6 Records, Raffi and Ward Churchill and Howard Zinn. Thay are Griffin Epstein: vocals, acoustic guitar, piano; Andrew Epstein: vocals, drums, tambourine, general percussion, toys; Liv Carrow: vocals, recorder, bass; Aaron Burns: vocals, glockenspiel, keyboards...and sometimes, Dibson T. Hoffweiler on the clarinet, guitar, and breadcrumbs. They come from Burnt Oak Records, a collective and community resource based (physically, anyway) in Guelph (Squamp), Ontario. They talk and talk and talk and talk and make music together and make art with their hands. They "do it ourselves," and they want you to do it with them. You should look at their website:

And finally, we9ll also hear from Dave End, an acoustic D.I.Y. troubador who writes queer cupcake loving honesty pop and focuses on the details that rhyme. In the past 2 years, Dave End has released 2 albums (How to Hold Your Own Hand, Fruits Commonly Mistaken For Vegetables), toured 4,500 miles in a veggie diesel car, made a lot of stuffed animals, and written a 100 page thesis about supermarkets.

All tickets for this concert are $10. All Proceeds benefit Midnight Run, the Dobbs Ferry organization that provides assistance to homeless men and women
