Winery Music Awards Competition-Elimination Round 4

The nation9s most unique music competition among independent artists is back in 2007. Held outdoors on the grounds of select boutique wineries within California9s scenic Central Coast wine region, Paso Robles, the Winery Music Awards competition showcases unsigned artists of original music in the US and Canada with a backdrop of grapevines, stacks of wine barrels and the smell of fermenting wine in the air.

The artists compete for significant prizes contributed by a variety of sponsor companies within and outside the music industry and an opportunity to perform their work for a panel of notable judges influential in the music, entertainment and wine industries. The panel scores artists on a 100-point scale in the categories of Originality, Musicianship and Marketability to men and women aged 25-54, a prime wine-consuming market. The competition is open to the music genres of: rock, blues, alternative, jazz, acoustic, country, folk, reggae9 and adult contemporary.

Notable names in the music industry who are judging the 2007 competition include Jon Anderson, of the legendary rock group, YES, and Antonia Bennett, jazz singer and daughter of the great Tony Bennett. Other judges are influential people in music production, performance, distribution and recording.

The Winery Music Awards Elimination Round concert competitions are held on one Saturday each month from June to September, with the Final competition and Awards presentation in October.

Out of all submissions, twenty artists are selected to perform at the wineries--five artists in each Elimination Round concert. The top total-scoring artist in each of the four Elimination Rounds advance to the Final Competition in October, along with two "Wild Card" winners. The Wild Card winners are the two highest scoring artists other than the winners of each individual Elimination Round concert. Therefore, six artists compete for the Grand Prizes in the Final Competition concert.

Founded and produced by Kathy Kelly Productions, Inc., the Winery Music Awards was created out of the growing popularity of quality musical performances at many wineries throughout California. The competition is open only to original music artists who are not under contract or signed agreement with a professional record label or other professional music recording entity at the time of submitting an entry to the 2007 Winery Music Awards and at the time of their performance in any Elimination Round, if selected, or the Final Competition in October, 2007.

The September Elimination Round has the final five artists competing for a spot in the Grand Final Competition in October. Check the Winery Music Awards website to hear music to be performed by the September artists.

Only General Admission ticketing is available and chairs and table seating is first-come, first-served. Space is available for ticketholders9 personal lawn chairs and blankets, if needed. Food, beverages and wine are offered for sale at each Winery Music Awards event. No outside alcohol is permitted to be brought onto the winery property.

The first artist will start at approximately 5:15pm. Each artist performs for 30 minutes and there is a 20-30-minute break in between artists. The winner of the Elimination Round is announced at end.
