Business Leaders Luncheon & Congressional Candidates Debate

The Gaithersburg, Germantown and Rockville Chapters

of the

Mid-Atlantic Hispanic Chamber of Commerce

invites you to their

Monthly Business Leaders Luncheon
& Maryland 4th Congressional Candidates Debate

Congressman Al Wynn(accepted, Ms. Donna Edwards, Esq. (accepted), and Mr. George Mitchell (accepted)

(Candidates in the 2008 Maryland Democratic Primary Election for the 4th Congressional District)

Come and witness history in the making. Mr. Mitchell is a successful businessman and a newcomer to politics. Ms. Edwards is the  strongest opponent Congressman Wynn has ever faced in his 15 years in Congress. When all the votes had been counted, Mr. Wynn won by a razor-thin margin, 2,725 votes out of more than 82,000 cast, over Ms. Edwards.

Come and listen to and ask questions about the candidates9 positions on issues such as immigration reform, access to capital for minority businesses, the fairness of contract bundling in Federal procurement, equal opportunities for Hispanics in Federal employment, national health insurance, and much more.

The "Wynn for Congress" campaign manager, Lori Sherwood, wrote that Congressman Wynn is "very interested in participating. However, September 5th is the first day that Congress is in session following the August recess. Typically, everyday that Congress is in session they have votes periodically throughout the day which make appearances in the district away from Capitol Hill difficult." Consequently, Mr, Wynn will be represented by Prince George9s County Councilmember Will Campos (District 2).

Please visit the candidates9 campaign websites to learn more about their experience, their public record, their attitude towars the Hispanic community, and where they stand on our issues.

When: Wednesday, September 5, 2007

Time: 11:30 AM – 01:15 PM.

Where: Ay! Jalisco Restaurant, 425 South Frederick Avenue (across from Gaithersburg High School), Gaithersburg, MD 20877.

Important Notice: The Chamber is a nonprofit organization chartered under section 501(c)6 of the Internal Revenue Service. It does not support political parties or candidates. With an early election primary scheduled for Tuesday, February 12, 2008, there has been little time for candidates to get ready to campaign and for voters to get to know the candidates and their positions on the issues. This primary election marks the third consecutive election cycle that the Chamber has been actively engaged in educating the Hispanic community about the candidates9 positions on the issues and urging them to be active participants in the political process.
