If you would like to feel more confident physically, generate calm under pressure, and practice verbal and physical skills to disarm a potential assailant, join Fiona Blyth and Judy Ringer for women9s self-defense and assertiveness training. Fiona is a 4th degree black belt and aikido instructor at New England Aikikai in Cambridge Massachusetts. Judy Ringer is a 2nd degree black belt in aikido and founder and chief instructor of Portsmouth Aikido, Portsmouth, NH.

Participants will:

• Increase physical and emotional power
• Learn to turn a freeze response into an action response
• Practice effective self protection skills for common types of physical assault
• Begin to control fear and make wise choices in physically threatening situations

Judy Ringer provides conflict resolution, team building and communication training throughout the U.S. and Canada with unique workshops based on mind/body principles from the martial art Aikido, in which she holds a black belt. With expertise in several best practice communication models, she brings to life key concepts such as self-management under pressure and appreciation of other viewpoints. Programs are experiential, energetic and fun. Frequently requested within the health, educational and business communities, clients include The National Institutes of Health, BAE Systems, Bose Corporation, UnumProvident Insurance Corporation, Maine Medical Center, Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, The American Red Cross, The National Education Association, and the States of New Hampshire and Vermont. Judy is founder and chief instructor of Portsmouth Aikido and sole owner of Power & Presence Training, in Portsmouth, NH.

Fiona Blyth, fourth degree black belt in aikido, has trained for over 20 years in England, France, and in the U.S. with Mitsunari Kanai Shihan at New England Aikikai in Cambridge, MA. She teaches high school French and Spanish and is an aikido instructor at New England Aikikai, Framingham Aikikai, and Portsmouth Aikido.
