CMMI for Services - A Cost Effective Approach to Early Adoption!

Released ahead of schedule 26 February, the CMMI for Services (CMMI-SVC) is a CMMI constellation that covers the activities required to manage, establish, and deliver services. Currently, some service organizations apply CMMI-DEV to their work, but this requires significant interpretation. CMMI-SVC is relevant to any organization concerned with the delivery of services, including enterprises in sectors such as defense, IT, health care, finance, and transportation. This presentation provides an overview of the new service Process Areas and suggests a cost-effective approach to early use.

Marilyn Ginsberg-Finner has worked in the telecommunications and defense industries, performing, managing, and consulting on process improvement, SQA, and other topics. She is a CSQE, Senior member ASQ, member NJ SPIN, IEEE-CS, and past Program Chair Jersey SIGAda, member IEEE Software Engineering Standards Executive Committee, and ISO USTAG.
