Georgia Tech SWE High School Girls Engineering Outreach Event

The Society of Women Engineers at Georgia Tech is pleased to be hosting an engineering outreach program (previously called EXCITE), targeted for females grades 9-12 who are interested in math or science.


The program will be offered:

Saturday, February 28, 2009 from 9 am-2 pm

on the campus of Georgia Tech.

Registraion opens on Wed., Jan. 21.


Space is limited to 160 girls on a first-come, first-serve basis. Our fall program had over 300 girls on the waiting list, so register early.


Additional details will be e-mailed by February 25 to those registered.


Through the program, high school girls will be:

  • Introduced to various engineering majors and career options
  • Encouraged to pursue an interest in math, science and engineering through campus tours and hands-on experiences
  • Provided with the opportunity to meet one-on-one with current female engineering students


Tentative activities will include:

  • Hands-on projects and activities
  • Demonstrations
  • Tours of Georgia Tech labs
  • Student and faculty question & answer panel
  • Optional campus tour (at 2:15)
