Who Should Attend:
Level Two training is designed for Head Start teams. Members should include representatives from grantee or delegate agencies such as directors, content area managers, Policy Council and Board members, center managers, family service workers, teachers and partners. Working together, you will create a plan to improve your agency’s ability to meet ERSEA requirements. Hands-on learning includes using proven, leading-edge techniques to meet funded enrollment and select children and families who have the greatest need for the program. Completion of Level One training by at least one team member is required for a team to attend Level Two training.

Take-home resource materials:
As with the other training levels, Level Two includes a comprehensive manual, designed to help you implement the knowledge and skills learned during training. The Level Two ERSEA Tool Kit helps program professionals implement the requirements of Part 1305 of the federal regulations and includes:

  • Easy-to-use guides for: Conducting a community assessment and using the information in ERSEA; Establishing recruitment targets; Developing selection criteria and using them to select children and families with the greatest needs
  • Detailed implementation strategies for complying with ERSEA regulations
  • Best practices for meeting and maintaining funded enrollment levels
  • Using a team approach to work plan development
  • Appendices and references that further support the requirements and ideas for implementation
