The focus of the round table will be the manifold ways we choose to remember and memorialize these great events in our nation's capitol.  Today, more than 50 years later, the Second World War and Holocaust are still a vital presence in our memory landscape, and their memory provides us with guidance about the future.  Yet, the lessons of these events, and the ways we may remember them, are not straightforward, and can still spark controversy.  We seek not to emphasize discord and controversy, but to discuss the ways in which it is important to commemorate the Second World War and the Holocaust for future generations.
