College applicants who can remember a Web-less world are long gone. Digital media channels are now firmly entrenched in the consideration, application and admission decision process for students and parents. Given this new landscape, schools must carefully consider how to direct resources and incorporate new tools.

On October 28th, Widmeyer Communications is pleased to host a presentation and discussion on this critical subject. We will share original research and examine how best and worst practices are playing out in the marketplace. Our discussion will also shed light on how schools can optimize their online presence, utilize social media tools, reach and attract “stealth” applicants and much more.

About the Presenters:

Doug Usher, Ph.D. Widmeyer Senior Vice President and Director of Research, brings nearly a decade’s worth of public opinion research experience to all of Widmeyer’s practice areas. His most recent work has been on behalf of public interest, higher education, institutional and corporate clients, including Wellesley College, Northwestern University, University of North Carolina-Asheville, Texas Instruments, and the Smithsonian American Art Museum.

Barry Reicherter, Widmeyer Senior Vice President of Digital Strategy, has more than 15 years of experience in the digital media field. At Widmeyer, Reicherter works on an integrated, firm wide basis with each practice group to deliver results-driven multimedia and virally charged marketing programs to clients such as CourseSmart and the Association of American Publishers.

Robert Dickeson serves as a Senior Counsel to Widmeyer higher education clients and as a member of the firm’s Higher Education Advisory Panel. He is a long-time leader in higher education, philanthropy, policy, research and institutional management. Previously he served as senior vice president for policy and organizational learning at the Lumina Foundation for Education.

Christopher Penn is the Chief Technology Officer of the Student Loan Network, founder and producer of the multi-award winning Financial Aid Podcast Internet radio show, co-founder of the groundbreaking PodCamp New Media Community unConference, and co-host of the Marketing Over Coffee marketing podcast.

CC Chapman is a popular podcaster and co-founder of The Advance Guard, a digital marketing agency focused on building compelling marketing programs leveraging social media and emerging technologies. Previously, he served as the digital marketing manager at Babson College. He is extremely active in the blogosphere and podosphere communities.
