This is a “don’t miss” Chapter meeting sponsored by Delta Airlines, featuring a top-rated NBTA speaker, Detective Kevin Coffey!  Detective Coffey has been featured on Oprah, 20/20, the Travel Channel, and many NBTA and MPI meetings around the country.  He will provide us with up-to-date industry information as it relates to safety and security of business travelers.  In addition to the key note speaker, this meeting will include our Volunteer Appreciation.  This lunch meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, November 11, 2009 from 11:00am to 2:00pm. at the Holiday Inn Madison at The American Center.

Geared for both travel managers and industry suppliers, this presentation will increase you and your organization’s effectiveness and knowledge, as well as potentially limit you and your organization’s liability when it comes to travel safety concerns. 

Learn why and how travelers are victimized, coupled with low cost methods on how to decrease their victimization potential.  The contents of this program will help you make a valuable contribution to your organization by helping safeguard its most valuable asset… its travelers or customers!  The following are just a few topics Detective Coffey will discuss:


1.      The most common crimes committed against business travelers.

2.      What other companies and travel industry professionals are doing to insure the safety and security of   their travelers and clients.

3.      How to educate travelers on protecting themselves and their property.

4.      How to best address safety and security during hotel site inspections.

Detective Kevin Coffey is the founder of Corporate Travel Safety, which specializes in travel safety seminars, training tapes and travel safety products. Kevin Coffey is an active, 23-year police veteran. He is not retired. He is currently employed with one of the largest police departments in the United States, and holds the rank of Detective Sergeant. He founded the Airport Crimes Investigations Detail and has been personally responsible for investigating thousands of crimes committed against travelers at airports, hotels, and car rental agencies.

His expertise has allowed him to identify the most common methods and locations used by professional criminals who target travelers, and to develop strategies to reduce traveler's victim potential.

As a pioneer in the area of travel safety, he is passionate about reducing the victimization of travelers in airports, hotels, and while on the road. He is the author of two books, the latest is, "Traveler Beware! An Undercover Cop's Guide to Avoiding Pickpockets, Luggage Theft and Travel Scams".

Kevin is the media's favorite expert on travel safety and related topics. Most likely you recognize him from appearances on Oprah, 20/20, CNN, CNBC, MSNBC, The Travel Channel, Court TV, The Today Show or countless other broadcasts.
