3rd Annual Turtle Splash & Family Bash

The 3rd Annual Turtle Splash & Family Bash, Sunday, May 6th, 2007, at Gleason Park in Indian Harbour Beach. Pre-splash festivities begin at noon; turtles launch at 3PM. What is a Turtle Splash? The idea is quite simple. It's a plastic turtle race and outdoor family fun day designed to bring the families in our community together for an afternoon of outdoor fun in the park. Race participants, families and friends come together to enjoy outdoor contests, live music, show & shine collectible vehicles, hot food, cold drinks, clowns, face painting, moonwalks, carnival games, unique performances and much more! Our feature performer, Captain Music, specializes in delivering interactive performances to children and will put on a very special show just for us! This will be followed by the Grand Parade to the water! The highlight of our festival will be our annual Turtle Splash. Imagine 3,000 rubber turtles splashing across the water in a race to the finish! Who will win all of those fabulous prizes? When someone adopts a turtle by donating $5.00, they receive a chance to win one of the prizes. If they adopt a turtle family for $20.00, they receive 5 chances to win and take home a souvenir turtle! And if they adopt a tub 'o turtles by donating $75.00, they receive 20 chances to win and take home 5 souvenir turtles!NEW THIS YEAR: THE “LUCKY TURTLE” CONTEST! We will be racing 3,000 eco-friendly plastic turtles for valuable prizes! The top 10 turtles to cross the finish line will WIN one of our fabulous prize packages AND will be qualified FINALISTS eligible to win a BRAND NEW LEXUS! This contest is being generously sponsored by Lexus of Melbourne, who will provide the eco-friendly hybrid luxury vehicle, the 2007 Lexus RX 400h, IF a “Lucky Turtle” finalist has adopted the pre-selected “Lucky Turtle” number. Remember, you can’t win if you don’t play! Stop by Lexus of Melbourne to adopt your turtles now, or visit us on the web to adopt them. Prize package listings and complete details of the contest rules can also be found online. Here's your chance to get in the swim by adopting one or more of our splashing turtles at a Turtle Splash adoption center near you, on our website or during our Family Bash, if still available. The Turtle Splash will take place waterside at 3PM and should be great fun for everyone! We invite children with special-needs to participate in the presenting of prizes, and if interested please contact us in advance to make arrangements. All proceeds will benefit The M.O.R.G.A.N. Project and its support programs for families with children that have life-threatening illnesses and/or various disabilities. The M.O.R.G.A.N. Project is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit charity established by and served by an all-volunteer staff, whose primary mission is to work together to promote awareness and support of parents caring for their special-needs children, and to enhance the quality of life for these special families in our community.Turtle Splash Adoption Centers are now open and posted on our website.
