Therapeutic Use of the Arts - Taster Weekend 14th / 15th November 2009


This programme consists of a two day, introductory workshop in the use of the arts, including clay, paint, sandtray and puppetry throughout the experiential weekend.

It is aimed at both training and qualified practitioners, who may want to develop their understanding an dincrease their fluency with art media and process, delivered within a person-centred framework.

The workshop will offer:

     *  Individual work engaging with the arts through a series of experiential exercises

     *  Group work, engaging group process through collaborative experiential exercises

     *  Opportunities to engage with image, metaphor and symbol

     *  Process supported by case study examples

This weekend workshop is an ideal opportunity to experience working with the arts and is offered as a standalone CPD course.  A more in-depth trainin, incorporating theory, practicve and experiential work the the arts , is planned for the New Year at the Link Centre for those that are interested in taking this further.

This training aims to support practitioners in developing arts interventions which can be employed in their work and to further develop fluence in the use of the arts in.  It also provides an opportunity to engage personally with the arts and as part of a group.

A certificate will be given on completion of this course.
