About the Panelists:

Dwight Merriman
Panther, Chairman and Co-Founder

Dwight Merriman is the Chairman of Panther Express. Prior to founding Panther Express, Dwight was Co-Founder of DoubleClick and served as DoubleClick's Chief Technology Officer for approximately ten years. He is also Chairman and Co-Founder of ShopWiki.

Dwight was architect of the DoubleClick ad serving infrastructure known as DART, which serves billions of ads per day on many of the largest sites on the Internet.

Previously, Dwight served as a software developer in the R&D group at DCA/Attachmate in Atlanta, Georgia. He received his bachelors of science degree with honors in systems analysis from Miami University of Ohio.

Mike Stankey
Partner, Greylock

Mike joined Greylock in 2008.  His area of focus is enterprise software in the business applications and infrastructure management spaces.

Prior to joining Greylock, Mike spent five years as Chairman and CEO of PolyServe, a storage virtualization software company, where he led the team to a successful exit with an acquisition by Hewlett Packard.  Prior to PolyServe, Mike was Senior Vice President of North American Sales for PeopleSoft where he also held various general management and sales management roles in a ten-year timeframe.  Mike started his career with Honeywell in accounting and transitioned into sales with Digital Equipment Corporation.

Mike is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire, where he earned a BBA with majors in Accounting and Management Information Systems.

Jonathan Abrams
CEO Socializr

Jonathan Abrams is the founder and CEO of Socializr, a new web service offering free online event invitations, and innovative ways to share event and party information with your friends. Jonathan is an award-winning serial entrepreneur who was hailed as "The Social Pioneer" by Vanity Fair in June 2008 for creating the pioneering social networking service Friendster.

Jonathan is the inventor of a United States Patent for a "System, method, and apparatus for connecting users in an online computer system based on their relationships within social networks."

Previously, Jonathan was the founder & CEO of the social bookmarking startup HotLinks, and worked as a software engineer at companies such as Netscape and Nortel. Jonathan holds an Honors B.Sc. in Computer Science from McMaster University, which he received after flunking out of engineering school.

Jonathan was named a "Breakout star of 2003" by Entertainment Weekly, and as one of Advertising Age Magazine's "Entertainment Marketers of the year." Jonathan has also been honored as one of the world's top young innovators by the MIT Technology Review, and nominated in the software designer category for the 2004 Wired Rave Awards. Jonathan was named as one of the ten sexiest Canadian Jewish Internet entrepreneurs in San Francisco by his friend Lenny.

Jonathan is the co-owner of San Francisco nightclub Slide, an investor in the restaurant Mamacita, and has been a frequent co-host at various San Francisco and Silicon Valley events and parties in the technology, business, nightlife, fashion, and non-profit sectors.

Jonathan is a member of the advisory board of the Silicon Valley Association of Startup Entrepreneurs, and has been extensively involved in the Silicon Valley entrepreneurial community, including past roles such as co-chair of the SDForum Venture Finance SIG, moderator of the SVASE CTO Forum, and a judge for the Stanford Entrepreneur's Challenge business plan contest, the UC Berkeley Business Plan Competition, and the Stanford-Berkeley Innovators' Challenge. Jonathan has also been a mentor for the Global Social Venture Competition, the Haas School of Business/Columbia Business School National Social Venture Competition, and the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs.


Steve Liddell
Panther CEO

Prior to joining Panther Express as the CEO, Steve Liddell was an executive in the international telecommunications industry. Steve was the COO of Clearwire International where he was responsible for the international operations of this early stage WiMAX operator. Steve held senior leadership positions at Level 3 Communications, first as President of their Asia Division based in Hong Kong and later as Group Vice President in Colorado.

Earlier in his career, Steve built the international submarine business based in Virginia and the Asia Pacific region for MFS which became MCI-WorldCom based in Hong Kong. As President of the region, he secured a unique set of licenses and built an extensive infrastructure-based business covering eight countries across the region.

Most recently, Steve was an independent consultant advising two of the leading private equity firms, Columbia Capital and MC Venture Partners and leading the acquisition of GTS – an Eastern Europe telecommunications operator.

Steve began his telecommunications career at British Telecom, working in London, England and Atlanta, Georgia. While at BT, he held a number of business development and strategic roles, mainly focused on international M&A activities.

Steve has an MBA from Henley Management College, an MS in Semiconductor Electronics and a BS in Physics from Bristol University in the UK.
