Dear Oil and Gas Industry Leaders:

The oil and gas industry has made giant strides to improve safe working conditions and environmental stewardship in recent years.  A positive shift in safety culture has occurred, but there is always room for improvement.  We all want to see our working men and women go home safely to their families each day and we can achieve this goal by working together.

OSHA Region VI and the Baton Rouge Area Office in cooperation with industry leaders invite you to a meeting on September 17, 2009, of members of management and safety leaders active in the energy industry.  Companies appropriate to attend are major and independent operators, manufacturers, and their contract partners in exploration, drilling, production, transportation, and pipeline operations.  The meeting will discuss the formation of a South Louisiana Exploration & Petroleum Network to facilitate and establish a monthly meeting where participants can openly discuss our shared vision to:

ü  Promote a safety culture

ü  Develop an incident–free workplace

ü  Share oil and gas best practices

ü  Develop a network of peer safety professionals

For further information or questions contact Alex Novas at novas.alexander@dol.gov.

Please register today by pressing the Register button at the top of the page or go to http://southlouisianasteps.eventbrite.com.

I look forward to seeing you there!
