Ricci v. De Stefano: How the Supreme Court Got it Wrong and Why We Should all Care

Join The Bar Association of San Francisco (BASF), the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights of the San Francisco Bay Area (LCCR), Equal Justice Society (EJS),The Legal Aid Society - Employment Law Center (LAS - ELC) and American Constitution Society – Bay Area Chapter (ACS) for a brown-bag discussion on the implications of the recent U.S Supreme Court decision in the New Haven firefighters case.

Moderated by James Finberg of Altshuler Berzon, LLP, the event features a distinguished list of panelists, including:

The panel will discuss the Supreme Court's 5-to-4 decision last term in Ricci v. DeStefano, and the question of when an employer can/should disregard test results in order to promote diversity, or avoid disparate impact. Panelists include an expert in test design and a party and counsel from the landmark litigation that successfully integrated San Francisco's  Fire Department.
