The Intern Bridge 2008 Internship Best Practices Report is a culmination of data gathered from over 12,000 students spanning more than 70 universities - the largest data set of its kind to ever be collected. The interns surveyed were employed by the majority of the Fortune 100 companies, in addition to a vast array of other for-profit and not-for-profit organizations, and government agencies. The data provides an in-depth, analytical look at the key areas of internship programs by highlighting the importance of:

  • Structuring a program in the most efficient manner possible;
  • Selecting a supportive supervisor;
  • Marketing the internship program to universities and their students;
  • Conducting proper on-boarding and off-boarding activities;
  • Understanding the expected outcomes of hosting interns;
  • Evaluating the skills of interns;
  • Interpreting the ideal culture of organizations hosting interns;
  • Why many students pursue internships, and others do not;

The report also contains detailed compensation and benefits data sorted by industry, position, and academic major. In addition, the reports highlights information regarding academic credit, and the differences between for-profit and not-for-profit internships.

Over 100 quotes directly from college students are included!

This report provides critical benchmarking data, important for employers with programs of all sizes and universities looking to better serve their students.
