EPA Regions 6 through 10 Capacity Development and Operator Certification Workshop Albuquerque, New Mexico- November 5-7, 2008.


The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will host the Seventh Multi-Regional “Western States” Capacity Development and Operator Certification Workshop encompassing EPA Regions 6 through 10. This event is part of the initiative to help drinking water systems improve their finances, management, infrastructure, and operations to provide safe / high-quality drinking water consistently, reliably, and cost-effectively. The Workshop will provide a forum to discuss Capacity Development and Operator Certification program implementation successes and challenges at the state and system level focusing on practical tools, training, and resources. This event will bring together State staff, technical assistance providers, and EPA to share ideas and information that will further our shared goals.

Hotel Reservations

Reservation Process

Individuals must make reservations via the Rio Grande Inn toll free reservation number 1 (800) 959-4726 or the hotel direct number at 1 (505) 843-9500. Individuals must identify themselves with the “EPA Capacity Development Workshop” group to receive the negotiated rate. Individuals who check availability and rates without requesting a room assignment from the EPA Capacity Development Workshop” block may be told that there is no availability or may be quoted much higher rates. Reservations that are made at higher transient rates will not be amended after the cut-off date of October 10, 2008. All reservations must be guaranteed with a valid credit card at the time of confirmation and no reservations will be accepted by e-mail or fax. Room and tax and all incidentals will be paid by individuals directly to the hotel.

Tax Exemption

Tax exemption is subject to approval by the Best Western Rio Grande Inn. Individuals claiming tax exemption must provide a valid tax exemption letter via mail prior to arrival. Forms should reference "EPA Capacity Development Workshops," the guest's name and the dates of the reservation. Reservation No Show/Cancellation Policy

Individual reservations must be cancelled twenty-four (24) hours prior to the scheduled arrival date or the individual will be assessed a penalty of one night’s room and tax per reservation held. Individuals with valid cancellation numbers may contact the Front Office at 1-505-217-1635 with disputes.
