Doing Business in North Africa
Northern Africa represents a market of more than 165 million consumers largely untapped by US businesses. The combined population in Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Libya and Egypt represents an export market of over 165 million people. Notwithstanding the global recession, annual GDP growth rates in this region vary from 3.5% in Algeria to 7.2% in Egypt and indications are that this impressive growth will continue into the foreseeable future.
