“How will the system Listen to Us?” Theatre Forum Series 2

FREE event
RSVP essential

A production by the Victorian Immigrant and Refugee Women’s Coalition will be brought to the stage to celebrate 100 years of women’s vote in Victoria.

Sudanese Women will perform short scenes that express their stories using the Forum Theatre method. The actors perform scenes of their struggle with parenting in a new country, mental health, settlement and integration into the Australian society, family break-up and its consequences.

As this is Forum Theatre, the audience are given the opportunity to speak to members of the cast in character at the end of each scene to try and help them resolve the issue. This is going to be a new experience of cross-cultural interaction. Service providers, policy makers, agency managers, politicians, media people and community development students are invited.
