Jynnah Radford, Student Ambassador headed for JAPAN!

People to People Student Ambassadors, "Fulfilling the vision of our nation’s 34th president, Dwight D. Eisenhower"

The Adventure of a Lifetime
Each year, thousands of young achievers leave their homes in the United States to explore the world as Student Ambassadors, traveling to various countries to foster cultural relationships and goodwill with foreign nations. People to People was founded in 1956 because President Eisenhower believed that young people and one-to-one cooperation were the keys to global understanding.

My name is Jynnah Radford and I am a 10th grade student at Savannah Arts Academy. I was recently interviewed and accepted to participate as a member of the People to People Student Ambassador Program to Japan this summer. The objective of this program is to promote international understanding while building leadership skills among America’s youth. The 2 week experience includes journeying to Hirado, Tokyo, Nagasaki, and Kyoto, Japan. I will be interacting with students my age, education activities, and home stays with host families.

I am currently seeking financial sponsors to help me with tuition, and hope I can count on your support. In case you haven’t heard of People to People, please allow me to share some history with you. President Dwight D. Eisenhower founded the organization in 1956. He believed that if people from cultures could come together in peace and friendship, so eventually would countries. Since its founding, People to People has launched many international programs, including Sister Cities and Project HOPE.

People to People Student Ambassadors are carefully interviewed and evaluated before their acceptance and I am honored to have been selected. Going to Japan would be the first step in my career. I plan on being an Anthropologist, the study of human culture. This trip would give me the necessary experience needed to get into a great college and I will already have some experience of being in another culture before I even start college. Upon my return, I plan to share my experience with schools and civic clubs in our community. As an Ambassador, I can also earn high school and college credit because of the many educational elements in my program.

The program tuition is $6,000, which includes all transportation, accommodations, meals and educational activities. I am asking that you please provide a $50 or $100 contribution to help me reach my goal.

Is it possible for you to assist me by making a contribution? I will plan to give a speech and share my journal, photographs and experiences with contributors upon my return.

Please feel free to contact me at 596-8500 or at 354-8888, Daniels Communications Group, which is the office of my mother Jewel Daniels.

If you would like to send me anything by mail, my address is 407 Stonebridge circle in Savannah, GA. Your generous contribution would enable me to share in this wonderful opportunity. Thank you in advance for you consideration and support.
