A Letter From Our Founder...

Dear Community Partner,

Thank you for taking the time to learn about Pre-K Foundation, our works, our mission, our commitment to the community, and our objectives. None of this would be accomplished without the aid, continued support, and donations from vested community partners like you.

"Humble beginnings" is one way to describe me being raised in Lockport , IL, walking distance from the dilapi-dated projects and within a 3 mile radius of the Joliet Jail and infamous Stateville Prison. When I was growing up, I was fortunate to attend a very diverse school that carried a wide range of household income levels. Vari-ous cultures and social economic levels rubbed shoulders in the hallway, ate at the same cafeteria table, and studied in the same classrooms. I did not become a product of my environment because I gained exposure. I became friends with groups that were known in society and active in their communities. I saw a different way of life and finally realized the difference between just being alive and living.

I can wholeheartedly say that if it wasn't for that exposure that provided me with a greater outlook on life, I would have become another statistic of my neighborhood, either shot or serving time behind bars. It is with that notion that Pre-K Foundation was created to help fight for our youth that are at a disadvantage. I ask that you get involved at some level and help us with our mission:

To Inspire, Innovate, and Educate Children on a Higher Level. Thus, Creating Future Leaders for Tomorrow.

Thanks in advance,

Adrian Shelby—Chairman & Founder
