In time for Valentine’s Day, The International Club of DC, with the cooperation of the Russian Cultural Center, cordially requests the pleasure of your company for an opera performance of passionate Romantic arias from beloved Russian Fairy Tales with excerpts from four 19th century operas that capture the passion and longing of stories that celebrate our common humanity. Start your evening with a warm and friendly reception with Russian caviar, spirits, and champagne served at the open bar. Afterwards, feast on a buffet of traditional Russian delicacies prepared especially for you by our Russian chef. After dinner sit back and relax to an intimate perormance of Russian and Italian opera arias performed by mezzo-soprano Magdalena Wor. Conclude your evening enjoying the company of other attendees and relaxing amidst Russian art and culture.
Come alone or bring your friends for a friendly soiree of Russian opera, cusine, art, and culture. Space is extremely limited. We encourage you to reserve your tickets early, as the event is expected to sell out.
:::: OPERA PROGRAM
The program of arias will include excerpts from the following beloved Russian Fairy Tales by mezzo-soprano Magdalena Wor
RUSLAN AND LYUDMILA by M.Glinka, the tale of a magical abduction, quest and rescue based on the epic poem by Alexander Pushkin;
SADKO by N.Rimsky-Korsakov the story of a medieval bard and ambitious hero whose passionate wooing of the Sea King’s daughter is but one of many miraculous adventures;
The SNOW MAIDEN also by by N.Rimsky-Korsakov, the tragic love story of the daughter of Spring and Father Frost whose longing for love proves her undoing; and
IOLANTA by P.I. Tchaikovsky, the fable of a blind princess who finds that true love is enough to restore her sight.
You will have the opportunity to indulge in a variety of Russian food and beverages served in the reception area. World-renowned Russian Vodka will lead the competition in the selection of beverages served at the open bar.

Arugula Salad with Olives, Pancetta, and Parmesan Shavings
Salmon with Caviar and Champagne Sauce
Lososina Alexander - Broiled Filet of Salmon with Champagne Sauce and Caviar.
Forel Po-Armianski - Sauteed Filet of Rainbow Trout, with Artichoke Hearts and Capers
Caviar will be served with traditional style with Buck-wheat Blini, minced red onion and Crème Fraiche.
Beef Stroganoff Beef Tenderloin, Mushrooms and Root Vegetables in a Red Wine Cream served with Potato Puree
Pan Seared Duck Breast Pan Seared Duck Breast served with a Vanilla Parsnip Puree, Wilted Arugula and Mushrooms, Prune-Onion Marmalade and a Sherry Foie Gras Cream
Mushroom Ravioli Vegetarian Pasta With Wild Mushrooms and Butternut Squash Cream

Check-in commences for VIP ticket-holders. Start your evening by indulging in a champagne and caviar reception while meeting other attendees and distinguished guests in attendance. You will also enjoy a delightful selection of piano music played in the background. Please note that the VIP reception concludes at 7:45 PM.
