Art Works when Artists Work!
Creativity ~ Culture ~ Community

The Expo for Independent Arts is a giant Show and Tell for art projects to engage with the public, gain recognition and hopefully new audiences and supporters.

Join us Saturday, September 26, 2009 when we take over the Music Concourse in Golden Gate Park with up to 200 exhibiting art organizations, our Fifth Annual Performance Showcase, a live mural project, sculpture garden and up to 5,000 attendees! Here's the 411...

Art Organizations, Collectives, Educators, Service Groups, Venues et. al., of all sizes and genres who want to get their message out. This includes Performing Arts such as dance, theatre and music, Visual Arts including art colectives, galleries, and guilds, Literary Arts, such as Zine's, independent newspapers, blogs, and poetry, and Multi-Media Arts such as film, online expression, and visual performance pieces. If your group/organization/project is about a form of expression, this is the place for you!  Businesses such as dance studios and venues are welcome, but please this is a no-vending event.  Businesses are only eligable for full tables.

Arts Organizations who register for Exhibiting Tables can distribute literature, display information about their organization or project, collect information from potential supporters and engage directly with the public.

The Expo is on Saturday, September 26th from 11:00AM to 6:00PM. Load in will begin around 8:00AM; and Load out will be at 6:00PM.  Full details about parking, what to bring, etc will be emailed to you as the date draws near.

This year we are grouping like-minded organizations into "Groves".  The Four Groves will be, Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Literary Arts & Multi-Media.  If your project /organization falls into more than one category, please let us know which Grove you would like to be in.  A map will also be published to help you find your table and then help attendees find you.

So glad you asked.  Art is essential.  Art doesn't fail in a bad economy.  Art Works when Artists Work! Since the year 2000, Indy Arts has created a special place for independent art projects to engage with the public.  In this, our tenth year, we want to show that despite a troubled economy Independent Art continues to thrive in The San Francisco Bay Area. And did we mention the potential for 5000 attendees?

That's easy.  Continue on with through this Eventbrite registration, and watch for emails with more information as the day draws near.  Then, RSVP on our Facebook page and then share it with your friends, encourage other Arts organizations and projects to come exhibit, and tell everyone you know to come out on September 26th.  Still want to do more?  Great!  Visit our volunteer page to help make it all happen.
