PRIVILEGE AND POWER SHARING: A New Thought Cross-Cultural Soul Dialogue

For New Thought Ministers, Practitioners, Practitioner Students enrolled in a New Thought Practitioner Training in the Academic Year 2008-2009.

Continuing Education Cultural Diversity Training Series
Inspired by the teachings of Jesus; the 20th century nonviolent social change movements in India, South Africa, and the United States; and the Letters from the Infinite series as revealed to Rev Deborah L. Johnson. This workshop focuses on Privilege & Power Sharing and is a follow-up to workshops “Let the Healing Begin” in July ’07 and “There’s a Healing Going On” in January ’08. Attendance at the prior workshops is not a prerequisite.

WHEN:  Friday & Saturday July 25 - 26, 2008.
Friday 6pm-10pm, includes dinner. Saturday 9am-5pm, includes lunch.
The program requires attendance on both Friday and Saturday.

Convene an honest cross-cultural dialogue with deep soul connection. Through Truth and
Reconciliation Models and Universal Spiritual Principles participants will learn how to:

  • Stand in the “AND” – spiritual Oneness and cultural diversity
  • Tell their personal stories and transcend them
  • Value differing perceptions
  • Move beyond ethnocentric thinking
  • Understand the dynamics of power
  • Identify and share our social privileges
  • Forgive each other and our ancestors
  • Create new cross-cultural alliances with deeper compassion

The lively interactive sessions will incorporate:

  • music and movement
  • forgiveness rituals
  • autonomous racial discussions
  • cross-cultural dialogues
  • exploration of diversity constructs presented by Rev Deborah L. Johnson
  • facilitation by a team of New Thought Ministers and Practitioners who are professional cultural diversity trainers
