Your Creative Voyage: provisioning your craft for the path ahead

Does any of this sound familiar?
You are creative and always have been.
You have been producing work you are proud of.
Now you wonder what's driving you and if you can keep it up indefinitely.
You are considering the consequences of changing course at this point.
You wonder whether it's time to drop some baggage, but aren't sure what you'll be needing.

Remember when people took long voyages by sea and they had to think ahead about what to bring and what leave behind? When you bring this kind of attention to your creative practice, you can feel surer about your present and future. You can't plan for every contingency, but you can bring the tools you'll need to carve your own personal path.

It's hard to move and grow as an artist or creative professional when the path ahead seems unclear. If you seem to have lost track of your tiller, you might grow bored, anxious or fearful; and that's a pretty good sign that it's time to make a change. But how can you be sure that the next move is right for you?

In this 3-hour workshop, you will:
    •    get a solid sense of where your creative compass is pointing you
    •    take stock of what you need to bring along, and what needs to be left behind
    •    explore how you can gracefully deal with obstacles in your path

You will leave with tools you can use to create a sustainable journey for yourself:
    •    acknowledgment of past experience that doesn't limit your future
    •    excitement about moving forward even in the face of the unknown
    •    a sense of "true north" that you can use to calibrate your compass whenever it seems to drift

We will do a combination of movement, guided visualization, discussion and art practices. This workshop is open to everyone, regardless of profession, vocation, ability or experience.

The next Creative Voyage workshop is Saturday May 9, 2pm–5pm.
We will have a short break in the middle of the workshop. Please bring water for yourself, a notebook or journal, and anything you need to be comfortable.

As artists and creative professionals, we tend to suffer in silence. We take it as a reflection of our worth when our creative process or product isn't absolutely stellar, and why would we want to share that? Join our group as we hold the space for our whole selves to expand, be heard and be seen.
