Black Farmers Breakfast Forum featuring U.S. Agriculture Secretary Ed Schafer

Black Farmers Annual Breakfast Forum celebrates our legacy as Black Farmers in America ~ Allensworth Centennial Celebration.  We highlight new agribusiness opportunity through collaborative effort and coalition building in the Food, Conservation and Energy Act of 2008.

U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Ed Schafer is our keynote speaker for this year's event.  His leadership toward expanding our USDA/CBO partnership will provide greater access and participation by Black Farmers and Ranchers within existing and new programs being established by the 2008 "Farm Bill."

Members and staff of the Congressional Black Caucus to play a leading role in expanding job creation, technical education and community resource development within their respective district and throughout the world in a renewed partnership with the United States Department of Agriculture.

Seasoned Black Agriculture leaders share the ongoing connection to the land and pass down the hard fought lessons to a new generation of developing chapions of sustainable agriculture in the United States of America.

Our Black Farmers Annual Breakfast Forum at the Acadiana Restaurant captures the true spirit of Louisiana -- a serendipitous blend of Old World traditions and New World resources.  The specially choosen breakfast buffet dishes represent various cooking techniques from the colorful ethnic areas spanning southern Louisiana, serving up the rich and complex flavors - the roux, the rémoulades, the bisques, and the étouffées for which the region is known and savored.  With its contemporary décor, Acadiana captures the atmosphere of the warm breezes that ruffle the Spanish moss hanging densely from ancient live oaks.

You do not want to miss a culinary highlight of the CBC 38th Annual Legislative Conference, the Acadiana Restaurant is “one of Top 20 Restaurants in America, by Esquire Magazine.”
