LEED Green Associate Exam Preparatory Class Scottsdale

LEED Green Associate Exam Preparatory Class is geared towards preparing individuals to understand the core concepts related to Green Buildings in order to take GBCI’s (Green Building Certification Institute) Green Associate Exam. 

This two-day training session, as well as a review and mock exam half-day session, will prepare you to be the next LEED accredited professional in your firm!

The Green Associate Exam is the 1st tier exam for LEED v3. The  Green Associate exam is “for professionals who want to demonstrate green building expertise in non-technical fields of practice…[it] denotes basic knowledge of green design, construction and operations.”  This exam is for product manufacturers, the marketers, the finance people, students, people in customer service for a large construction firm, etc.   It’s also for people who are not yet eligible to take a LEED AP specialty exam.

The Green Associate exam will test your knowledge of:

  • The LEED Application Process
  • Project Site Factors
  • Water Management
  • Project Systems and Energy Impacts
  • Acquisition, Installation and Management of Project Materials
  • Stakeholder Involvement in Innovation
  • Project Surroundings and Public Outreach
  • Synergistic Opportunities between various LEED strategies

The information is less detailed than what is required to know for the specialty exams, but it covers information that can span across all of the various LEED Rating Systems.

  • 2 hour exam
  • 100 multiple-choice questions

  • USGBC national members/full-time students: $150, All others: $200.

About the Instructor:

Dr. Caroline Lobo (B.Arch, M.Tech, MS, Ph.D, LEED AP) is a practicing architect in Phoenix, AZ.   A graduate of Arizona State University,  Caroline is passionate about the notion of Sustainability integrated into all aspects of life. Having earned her Doctorate in Environmental Design at Arizona State University, Caroline approaches design integrating fundamental environmental design principles in all her projects.  She has 20 years of design experience and is a LEED accredited professional.  She has worked on numerous LEED – Silver, Gold and Platinum projects.  She is a frequent speaker at national and international green building conferences.  She has helped many professionals get their LEED-AP accreditation through her LEED preparatory classes.  Caroline has the honor of being part of the 2008 class of "Forty under Forty", the premier program honoring the best young leaders in the Phoenix Metro market.
