Join Rotary Club San Francisco Golden Gate and Global Initiative to Advance Entrepreneurship (GIVE) on Wednesday, February 27 for a presentation showcasing effective poverty program in SE Asia. This event will introduce a new Asia Entrepreneurship Initiative, which is seeking partnerships within the small business, corporate and nonprofit sectors.
Dr. Cecilia del Castillo, Founder and Executive Director of Negros Women for Tomorrow Foundation (NWTF). A 20 year veteran of poverty alleviation in the Philippines, Dr. Castillo founded NWTF in 1984 as a non-governmental organization helping women in low-income and depressed urban and rural communities achieve self-sufficiency. In partnership with the Grameen Bank, NWTF currently serves 100,000 low-income women and is considered a pioneer in the growing microenterprise movement.
Steven Van Yoder, Founder of Global Initiative to Advance Entrepreneurship (GIVE) and president of Rotary Club of San Francisco Golden Gate. Steven is leading both organizations toward addressing the growing problem of global poverty in the developing world through entrepreneurship training among individuals and nonprofits in struggling countries.
Who Should Attend?
This event will educate anyone with an interest in this exciting field of microfinance, including nonprofits, social entrepreneurs, and members of the business community. The event will encourage innovation among organizations already participating in microfinance programs, and provide opportunities to form strategic partnerships to build and expand the outreach and success of microcredit and microfinance.
