This is Session 2 of a 3 part series
The Data View Web Part helps solve many of the problems that occur with Out of the Box (OOTB) solutions in SharePoint. It allows you to view lists across sites. It allows the connection to external data sources. It gives the ability to combine lists into a single source of information.
In this series of workshops, Laura Rogers takes a step-by-step, hands-on approach to help you create immediate solutions within your SharePoint environment.
Getting Started with the Data View Web Part is a live online, hands-on session. Participation in this workshop includes access to an on-demand recording of the entire session, hands-on live instruction, a sandbox in which to implement and practice the solutions, and any resources used during the workshop.
This workshop is fully hands on. You receive your own SharePoint sandbox to experiment with the solutions, create your own data view web parts, and adjust data displays through conditional formatting. You'll learn tips and tricks about how not to mess up a site (from someone who did it many times, and has 4 years of experience with these web parts).
The Data View Web Part opens a SharePoint site to much needed possibilities when displaying information for the Information Workers and End Users. This live online workshop is aimed at Power Users and Site Managers who are responsible for managing their sites.
If you feel limited in the OOTB features for displaying information in SharePoint, this live online workshop is for you.

"What I got out of it the most was by far the use of Task Lists, that was exceptional ! I had no idea that they could be that useful. I’m planning on importing many of my spreadsheets into the site, including our business plan." -- Erik [The Fundamentals of SharePoint Lists and Libraries, Online]
